Lost in the Forest

THE TRAVELLERS, LOST IN THE FOREST OF ETERNITY

"Which direction should one take to reach the edge of the plateau, and escape? Bereft of sunlight under the clouds and forest canopy, one tree follows another, and one space succeeds another, without difference or progression. One walks through a space of eternal sameness, like a hall of reflections, in which time seems to repeat itself and space to have neither direction nor distance. The unfortunate travellers have an experience of an eternal succession of present moments, all of which succeed each other without appearing to give rise to the passage either of time, or space".
